COBE students excel during AHToMP’s First Nat’l ICVC

The Hospitality and Tourism students of Northwestern University under the College of Business Education excel in the different activities during the First National Inter – Collegiate Virtual Competition organized by the Alliance of Hospitality and Tourism Movers of the Philippines (AHToMP) on May 13 – 29, 2021 with the theme “United to Serve and Move as One.”


11 students represented the university in the different competitions. Klyh Nycholle G. Remollo and Christa Khay F. Saludares for Tourism and Hospitality Quiz Bee; Berlyn M. Sumaoang for Buffet and Centerpiece Making Contest; Ashlyn Joy A. Domingo for Cooking Competition utilizing Sardines; Geraldine C. Agustin for Domestic Tour Package; Mark Dio F. Palcon for Extemporaneous Speech; Jed T. Raquion for Facemask, A New Normal Cultural Inspired Fashion; Christian Gerald M. Pacial for Mocktail Masters; Marl Eldrick L. Duabe for Table Napkin Folding; John Lowe V. Guererro for Tara, Biyahe Tayo; and Jhian Denver Aspili for Tiktok Contest.


Mark Dio F. Palcon was awarded 1st Place for Extemporaneous Speech; Ashlyn Joy A. Domingo was awarded 5th Place for the Cooking Competition utilizing Sardines; and Geraldine C. Agustin was awarded 5th Place for Domestic Tour Package.

“Events and organizations like this really give us the reassurance that there’s still hope and a bright future that awaits the hospitality and tourism, management students. I’ve witnessed that in the process of recovery, we strive to be a united country in order to bounce back stronger,” said Mark Dio F. Palcon.


“It’s also good to see that in this industry, we have good educators, mentors/coaches who are really dedicated in motivating and nurturing young talents– with their belief that these learners are truly the catalyst of change,” Mark Dio F. Palcon added.
