Unprofessional Professional

First and foremost, I do not mean to harm the feelings of whoever may read this. In addition, it is not my intention to cause shame to someone. But if that’s the case, I offer my sincerest apology and I demand also a change of behavior to whom this letter may concern.

It is not my desire to voice this out. However, I think I have to stand up on behalf of my classmates, and to my fellow Northwesternians. Even I could witness the same situation. I am wondering why certain faculty scold and rant us. Too bad because we look up to them for great leadership and good attitude. Their annoying rants are present in all activities in the university. It was like, wow, so we were to blame. We were not officers but I think these officers who use to see the latter were patient enough, but not for us non-officers. We were informed of what to do and where to go in the activities that the university are conducting. And if there are changes in the original plan, well, we’re sorry for not complying immediately. Upon arriving in the activity’s venue, we should not be welcomed by force and screams. We are new students here. We aren’t much aware of many things in the university.

We demand for gentle and polite request to follow. We are willing to follow. It makes no sense if we will just ignore or walk away. If our non-attendance will cause us fines in the end, what choice do we have? Others may consider “scolding” as “strictness” and to be strict is a dare for a leader so the followers will be obliged to follow with no rules being disobeyed, but that is not we want. We don’t want to be controlled either. Scolding us may hurt our feelings. Others are used to it but it is an indecent way to converse. Let’s say they have the reason to do that. However, we are being offended. Scolding is not the way. It minimizes our professionalism as presented in CHAMPS, and we don’t want to minimize our dedication in fulfilling these.
