The College of Teacher Education (CTE) and College of Maritime Education (COME) unleashed teamwork, dedication, and commitment as they celebrate Archons Day on April 14, 2023, at NWU grounds. Marine and Education students, faculty members, and staff participated the said event.

Prof. Joey Ganitano, CTE- Young Educatorsโ€™ Society (YES) adviser, emphasized the essence of camaraderie between the two colleges. He indicated that Archons showcase different values which are expected to be embodied by the students since the team is the core component of each sport, event, or activity not only in extracurricular but also in academics.

“Let us all take this as an opportunity to unwind since this event is not about any stressful academic weights. It is time to chill, to laugh, to shine, to inspire and to be inspired, and to shout at the peak of your voices for your most valued participants,” he added.

Moreover, the Bachelor in Physical Education majors gave their best shot in leading a zumba session to all CTE and COME participants. After their energetic dance steps, fun games began to strengthen bonds while cultivating perceptions.

Alfred Rosauro, a Marine Engineering student shared his experience during the Archons Night. “Being one of the students who attended the Archons Night is such a blessing and fulfillment. I didn’t expect that in just a short period, like 3 hours of programming, it would give me so much fun and memories,โ€ he stated.

โ€œTo be honest, I expected it to be just fun, but it turns out it became more than I expected. It was a memorable night,” Rosauro added.

As the Corps of Cadets Third Class Officers carried out their silent drill, the performance developed additional excitement. They demonstrated their abilities and proficiency with guns. In addition to this, in the unplanned segment, Ms. and Mr. Archons brought such delight that effectively endured the tiredness of the students.

Furthermore, the program was concluded by the YES President, John Rafael Liberato. “Without the unity and collaboration of the organizations, it wouldn’t be so fun and fabulous and made this program perhaps extremely fun,” he noted.
