The appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs has been seeing Northwestern University from the start of its glorious history as she honed herself and worked through the passage of time for 31 years. Her raging passion burns within as she continues her journey where her heart is at ease with all things that come and go. She has endured and enjoyed the long roads, bumpy streets, and stopovers that the journey has offered. Taking the road she chose made her open her eyes to all possibilities as it helped her enhance her own way. In the midst of everything, she slowly walked into her path and learned to love the things she does.

Dr. Gregoria S. Najorda started as a faculty member of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) in 1991 – 1995. She later laddered as the Dean of the Natural Sciences. In 1997, she was appointed as the Director of the Community Extension Office. Later on, she made her biggest stepping stone and founded the first ever Medical Technology Program in Laoag City.

Mesmerized by the things that NWU offers, it gave galactic joy that Medical Technology grew widely to the extent where Northwestern University is the only school offering the Medical Laboratory Assistance and Phlebotomy Program that give opportunity to students to work and find their passion in helping in the hospital while studying. In 2000, the MedTech program was granted permission to operate, together with the clinical laboratory that only started with blood typing. Through hard work and progress, it expanded and offered urinalysis and blood count. As time passes by, Hepatitis screening and drug testing have been implemented.

She became the Dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences for six years and was appointed recently to take over the seat as the Vice President for Academic Affairs starting the Academic Year 2022-2023. The experiences and hardships she took in order to strive, the melodies she played to bring harmony within her work, and the candle she ignited to bring light to education have led her to her position.

She endured life as a single parent and raised her kids to be the person they are today; something she could be proud of. She mentioned that it has been a tough load to carry and at the same time, it was very fulfilling. She gives value to those who have helped her open the gates of knowledge.

Dr. Najorda believes that not everything can be learned from books alone. Sense of responsibility, discipline, and focus are essential upon entering the real world where adults move at their own pace. As time passed, she learned how to mellow down and adjusted accordingly to the new generation of teaching, and she herself never stopped learning.
