The employees also play a significant role in achieving the nine decades of commitment to excellence, honesty and integrity, active involvement, and selfless service.

Four (4) awardees from the President’s Club have rendered ten years of exemplary service. Moreover, nine (9) President’s Club awardees for their selfless service for 15 years. The Chairman’s Club Awardees for 20 years have 13 altruistic employees, while the Chairman’s Club Awardees for twenty-five years have 10 noble employees. On the other hand, the Founder’s Club Awardees have nine (9) enthusiastic employees for 30 years and up. The Founder’s Club Awardee for 35 years has one (1) compassionate employee and one (1) selfless employee for the Founder’s Club Awardee for 40 years.

The Founder’s Club Awardee was Prof. Josephine G. Bolusan, Vice President for Finance. “Receiving this service award signifies a lot of things for me and my fellow recipients of this recognition. Beyond and behind the number of years that we have respectively hurdled in this academic institution are stories, challenges, and experiences that have professionally and personally molded us,” she said.

“The institution taught me a lot of things. Things about professionalism, about competence, about excellence, about leadership, about friendship, about love, and about life. Moreover, this institution showed to me what battles should be fought, to take the frontline or just the backseat; talk or just to listen; to lead or just to follow; to change or just maintain the status and to oppose or just to conform,” Prof. Bolusan added in her speech.

In her interview, she said, “What made me stay in NWU? It is the love that made me stay with Northwestern University. When I needed a work, it was NWU who [opened] his arms to me, and they trusted me and believe in my capability… which I never regret.”

Prof. Bolusan also expressed her gratitude to those people who have patiently guided and trusted her through the years of serving the university.
